このナイフは 刀鍛冶の日本刀にそそぐ技術や 日本刀が持つ精神をこめ製作いたしましたペーパーナイフ型の刃物です
日本刀同様、焼入れをおこなった後、天然砥石での研ぎで仕上げております
また 鞘には日本の古民家で長い時を経た貴重な「煤竹」をつかい製作、日本の色である藍染めの糸を 鍛冶仕事に使う道具につかう結い方で結んでおります
ひとつひとつに想いをこめた 日本のこころを持つ「一期一会」の玉鋼ナイフです

ー 玉鋼とは ー
日本古来の製鉄技術である「たたら製鉄」により得られる和鋼が「玉鋼」です
この「玉鋼」は日本刀の作刀に欠かすことができません
現在では島根県奥出雲にて「たたら」の技術保存と 日本刀製作の礎として
「村下」によって炎のなかでうまれる貴重な存在です

ご自宅での保管をおねがいいたします
使用後はケースに刀を納め、幼児の手の届かないところへ保管してください
黒染めによる錆び止めを施しておりますが 時折椿油などを塗布して頂くことをおすすめします
水気などはつかないようご注意ください また水気がついた際はすぐにふきとってください

A Japanese sword forged and heat-treated from “Tamahagane” steel
This paper knife is crafted with the same techniques and spirit that swordsmiths pour into Japanese swords.
Like a traditional Japanese sword, it is quenched and then finished by sharpening with a natural whetstone.
Furthermore, the sheath is crafted from precious “soot-stained bamboo” that has weathered the passage of time in a traditional Japanese farmhouse, and is bound with indigo-dyed thread—a quintessentially Japanese color—using the same knotting technique employed for blacksmithing tools.
Each piece is a Tamahagane knife embodying the Japanese spirit of “Ichigo Ichie” (a once-in-a-lifetime encounter), with heartfelt care poured into every single one.

— What is Tamahagane? —
“Tamahagane” is a type of Japanese steel produced through “tatara smelting,” an ancient Japanese ironmaking technique.
This “Tamahagane” is indispensable for the forging of Japanese swords.
Today, in Okuizumo, Shimane Prefecture, as a cornerstone for preserving the “tatara” technique and Japanese sword making,
it is a precious material born from the flames by the “Murashita” family.
The Tamahagane knives from the Futsumasa Takashi Forge are crafted by forging this “Tamahagane.”
— Care Instructions —
Please store the knife at home.
After use, please place the knife in its case and store it out of the reach of small children.
Although the blade has been treated with a black dye to prevent rust, we recommend applying camellia oil or a similar substance from time to time.
Please take care to keep the blade dry. If it does get wet, wipe it dry immediately.
Please place the blade in the sheath with the “Masataka” signature facing inward.
